3rd party ads on adsense.

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

I’ve assume this was sort of happening anyway without it be public but yesterday I and all adsense publishers got a email anoucing it!

We’ve recently enabled the Google content network to accept display ads served from qualified third-party vendors. At this time, only ads in English are eligible.

If you’re currently opted in to image ads, you’re already able to receive third-party ads. If you’ve disabled image ads, no third-party ads will be served on your site. (Learn how to enable or disable image ads at

https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=9741.)

I run picture/txt ads on to of a forum I run with 10k+ page views a day which has oftern had high end adverts e.g. DHL targeting the site. I’ve assumed this targeting was NOT directly applied but via some agreement / 3rd party..

I hope my $ are going to go up :)

I look forward to the results.

Adsense earning down ?

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Well..

It would seem that a load of peeps are reporting less earning so far this year..

I’m happily seeing a increase as traffic returns after xmas http://www.seohome.co.uk/2008/01/03/webmaster-2008-hangover-cure/

:D

But not just the traffic i’m 100% seeing a increase in the CPC ..

I also could be due to my conspiracy theory regarding the drop in Rev whenever the reports arn’t working lol

Anyway all is good.. Back to the world of seo after a nice week in the alps..

Adsense Reports Fixed

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Google have finally fixed the adsense reports..

Now you can view the reports in the correct order showing the most $$ at the top per channel..

Its odd why it has taken so long?

I first reported the incorrect order on the 14th of December 2007 here : http://www.seohome.co.uk/2007/12/14/adsense-reports-in-a-mess-again/

Its take ONE month and ONE day!

I’m still lost at why this would take so long and what google would of changed regarding the reporting at this time ?

Ah well … All back to normal ..

Adsense Reports in a mess again..

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Spotted this morning when I logged in and I still messed up..

Basically google is showing the list randomly.. or in some wired order compared with the normal highest earning channel at the top..

Screen shot:

Wrong order!

no more “advertiser sign up” links

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Good news I think..

I’ve only every clicked on 1 once in my life and really didn’t feel it helped the user.

This also decreases the links on the page by 1 :)

Call it time management, call it ROI, call it our unwavering commitment to our publishers. We want you to earn more revenue, and sometimes that means “sunsetting” certain features we created.

New adsense ads CTR changes.

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

On the 15th November 2007 google change the format of the adsense ads..

Loads of reports hit blogs and forum with people worried about the fact that clicks will go down!

What changed?

Well basically you can now only click on the title of the ad OR the url if its displayed… I think its great… Perfect.. I was not worry as I’m a adwords user and feel it good for us!

Here more info from google about it:

http://adsense.blogspot.com/2007/11/accidental-clicks-fade-into-background.html

OK so you know about the changes now..

Well what’s the effect?

In regards to my adsense I have seen a increase in CTR of 0.5% which i’m very happy with..

I’m sure the advertisers are happy too…  This is only the first week of the new format but its great imho!

Adsense reports still a mess!

Friday, October 26th, 2007

No word on the blog http://adsense.blogspot.com/ when adsense is going to be fixed :(

A blog post on SERT http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/015122.html includes a quote from google’s “AdSenseAdvisor” from wmw…

Our engineers are aware of this aggregate/channels reporting discrepancy and are working on resolving it as quickly as they can. I’ll let you know when I know more.

Sorry for any confusion

Nothing about when its going to be fixed :(

I’ve been testing new colours … hmmm ah well… We shall wait and see…
