Saga is massive in the uk offering insurance, holiday’s etc… all designed for the grey generation!..

This is going to be a newplace to promote sites

I just need a name now

Just over 2 months ago I launched a new site…

I already have quite a few sites in that niche

One of the older sites is a forum with some 6,000+ members (about 100 aday a “really” active)

Anyway.. 2 months ago I started my 3rd social book marking site… The first 2 weeks hit the viral seen big time

Its 2 months on and google is only #3 even with the site ranking well already… You can guess what no1 ? Another social site.. YEP SU!!!

Anyway anyone launching a new site should waiting for ranking’s and just build links like the old days… Get viral… This is nothing new but I thought I’d post my stats after 2 months of life:

Referring Sites (76.69%)
Direct Traffic (12.74%)
Search Engines (10.57%)

The best thing that got this going was a competition… with over 4,000 backlinks almost all deep and now added by myself is an interesting site to watch!

This is crazy..

 I’m liking some results and not others as always…  This blog has some how gone down lol… must be all those SERT links hehehe…

 I’m very happy with 2 new PR6 sites hehehehehe

24 days old update … I have a site that has new pages added every day… up to 24 days old  pages are all update

Our engineers are aware of this aggregate/channels reporting discrepancy and are working on resolving it as quickly as they can. I’ll let you know when I know more.

Today is the launch of yahoo search assist in the uk and Ireland..

Only available from Yahoo!, Search Assist goes beyond basic search “suggestions” and gives consumers real-time query suggestions as well as related topics and concepts, which is especially valuable when a person is searching on an unfamiliar topic.  

“when a person is searching for a unfamiliar topic” OR when a seo is looking for new keywords

Sorry to anyone this may offend but come on…

To build links you don’t need to just go to TLA and spend $$$ or link sales in DP… So many ways to get “real” links..

Rember life before TLA ?

I blogging this cos I keep hearing people post that google is going to drive link buying “under ground” but come on.. Anyone who has built link has not just bought them.. The amount of emails I send asking for articles or competitions, you know “would you like to enter” create linkage…

But the above then suggests that that is sneaky, underhand and EVEN “underground” … At no point do any guidelines say your not aloud to approach a webmaster about the content of a site….

Super markets:
I’m not a fan of super markets but most lazy people are… 1 place to buy everything.. I really hate shopping centers (malls) why oh why…. Local shops.. small shops are much better..

So if I’m shopping in small shops then those are classified a “underground ?
 

Many many big and small sites have lost massive amount of green juice (PR) today and it would seem that a common factor is that each site sells / looks like it sells links…

One that hasn’t been effected is w3schools (but imho its been blocked from passing “any / much” PR to its advertisers a long time ago).. One interesting thing with w3schools is that its not linking to its advertisers from the homepage… hmmm..

So don’t linky from your hp and your fine ? Is the radar only working on hp links then…

Some massive sites have been hit like phpbb, statcount, forbes, sert and many more…

We shall wait and see…

I enjoyed using my pda and google is pretty cool with a super fast “mobile” search…

If jaiku and google team up that would be cool.. We shall wait and see..
