New site stats… Viral is great…

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Just over 2 months ago I launched a new site…

I already have quite a few sites in that niche ;)

One of the older sites is a forum with some 6,000+ members (about 100 aday a “really” active)

Anyway.. 2 months ago I started my 3rd social book marking site… The first 2 weeks hit the viral seen big time :D

Its 2 months on and google is only #3 even with the site ranking well already… You can guess what no1 ? Another social site.. YEP SU!!!

Anyway anyone launching a new site should waiting for ranking’s and just build links like the old days… Get viral… This is nothing new but I thought I’d post my stats after 2 months of life:

Referring Sites (76.69%)
Direct Traffic (12.74%)
Search Engines (10.57%)

The best thing that got this going was a competition… with over 4,000 backlinks almost all deep and now added by myself is an interesting site to watch!

Another $1million home page idea

Friday, October 27th, 2006

I like this….

Its seems to of been about for a while.. But hey I haven’t spent enough time over on digitalpoint of late..

Anyway here is a bit of linkage for you http://www.linkexperiment.com/

The guy basically wants people to add links to the home and bid for them.. the minium bid is $20.01 right now..

This is how it work

The link experiment started on May 15th, 2006 with links for sale at a starting bid of $.01 per link. The idea is simple. The homepage will hold 100 links which anybody can buy. Links are ordered by price from highest to lowest. For every new bid, all links below it are moved down one spot and the last link gets pushed off the homepage.

And this is what its for (bit like last time.. )

I created the page with 2 small goals in mind. 1) To support my running career in an attempt to make it to the Olympic Games for long distance running. 2) To make $1 Million Dollars

hmmmm nice idea.. but the olymic games runner who is already 23 ? .. Anyway good luck..!
