Spam foot prints…

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

As is soon crimbo and the snow is going to cover the land last start a blog on “foot prints” in the snow..

So in regards to seo, rss, BH and alike what is a foot print.. Well its something left by and application.. The web application used for this blog is word press which has 100’s and foot prints identifying as wordpress.. Not just the link to wp at the bottom but meta info and just folder/code formation…

Any here is a example of one I’ve come across today..

This a script that produces so called “portals” .. I’ve seen the style (application) of these sites submitted to my directories 1,000’s of times..

So for this one you can use the following query..

The query is from the homepage of seo script.. Thus leaving a foot print in the snow…

Google and alike have some nifty tool from foot print tracking and its a subject I’m going to expand on in the future..

Google bot stats from webmaster tools

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

Gbot activity..

This is very cool..

I have 3 sites with ye-oldie google sitemaps and its really good to see the difference..

Anyway this is what google said:

Check out these cool charts! We show you the number of pages Googlebot’s crawled from your site per day, the number of kilobytes of data Googlebot’s downloaded per day, and the average time it took Googlebot to download pages. Webmaster tools show each of these for the last 90 days. Stay tuned for more information about this data and how you can use it to pinpoint issues with your site.

Here is my chart:

“linkfromdomain:”

Wit today points out a topic from threadwatch here http://www.seorefugee.com/forums/showthread.php?p=38464#post38464

A New Operator

We have one new, very exciting operator: LinkFromDomain. Using LinkFromDomain in your search includes all sites that are linked from a given domain. This complements LinkDomain (which includes all sites that link to a given domain) that was introduced back in June, 05.

The visual below depicts “YourSite.com” and a set of related sites. The Blue nodes represent sites with reciprocal links, while the yellow nodes are sites you link to, and the green nodes sites that link to you. Here’s how you would capture these domains with advanced syntax:
