Google will give $10 per photo!

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Nice idea..

Take a piccy of a store and sent it to google.. pretty cool.!

You can earn up to $10 for each approved, verified referral you submit. This includes $2 when a business referral is approved by Google; and $8 when an approved business verifies that the information you submitted is accurate. Referrals are approved by Google based on the completeness and quality of data supplied by representatives. Businesses verify their information either by sending us a response postcard or verifying their information online.

Of course us in the uk can’t sign up :(

I think you could do at least 100 to 200 a day : )

Maybe soon !

Cold calling/email SEO companies most cost potential customers Millions

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Ever had that phone call from a seo company the goes like this:

We can reduce your adwords expenditure by 40%

Now these calls are kind of fun as my clients just redirect and online marketing calls to me.

The one problem I have with this is the fact that to know that I use adwords a seo company would search for keywords that return high paying ads then click them.. Yep click them.. I really doubt these guys search in the natural results for the company name and contact info..

A post on sert the other mentioned block competitor click via remove geo location of competition Hq … So should we block seo companies too…

Yahoo answer my prayers

Monday, August 6th, 2007

According to yahoopete over on SEW forums yahoo are going to ditch the minium spend for us in the UK

I’ve been asking for this for umm… Well as long as I can remeber..!

Here is a quote from the forums:

Yup, there will be no minimum monthly spend on UK accounts from August 1, 2007 onwards.

Posts from yahoopete :

http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=18948

The only problem is the uk yahoo page hasn’t been update as yet

  1. Each account requires a nonrefundable £60 initial deposit, which applies towards click charges. There is a minimum bid requirement of £0.05 per click-through. Please note that as the minimum bid depends on the specific search term, certain keywords will have a minimum bid of £0.05 and others a minimum bid of £0.10. Each account has a £20 monthly minimum spend.

see:

http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/en_GB/arp/pricing.php

Some of you think i’m crazy.. £20.. That’s nothing.. True but some people say have a budget of £30 a month and the traffic / clicks isn’t enough to hit the £20 mark..

It’s happened to me and others… You get a email saying that you only spent £15 but yahoo going to take £20 whatever…

Hope yahoo gets blog and contract info updated soon ?

Answers.com Traffic Down 28%

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Ouch that’s got to hurt!

Quote taken stright form the wiredblog:

Answers.com CEO Bob Rosenschein revealed this week that his site lost 28% of its traffic in a week, thanks to a change in Google’s indexing algorithms. That news should send a shiver down the spine of anyone who depends on the search engine for traffic and revenue.

The wired blog post includes graphs of the drop in alexa and technorita..

More info here:

Could its be the selling of text links ? hmmm …

Maybe the use of yahoo answers or just taking copy from wiki hmm who knows…
