Yahoo Pricing Discounts launch in the UK

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Today yahoo is now in the UK using a similar system to google regarding google’s “smart pricing” …

From today, 15th November, advertisers in the UK can benefit from discounted clicks for better quality traffic

Cool discounted clicks …

One big problem with this.. As yahoo hasn’t launched YPN in the uk then this is really only to be a tiny change.. Why?

Well… The “discount clicks” only apply to “partner distribution network” clicks.. So.. With no YPN in the uk then is a small number of site “driving” this traffic…

Don’t hold you breath for a massive increase in traffic due to this change…

 What is changing?
Previously you were charged the same amount for traffic from all websites within our partner distribution network. However, with pricing discounts, a discounting system will be introduced and you may be charged less for certain clicks than the price you would normally pay. This discount depends on the overall quality of the websites who are providing this traffic to you. As a result, your click charges may decrease

Maybe just maybe UK YPN is coming !!!

MyBlogLog going to get you banned from Adsense/ypn?

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

A few threads and blog posts in regards to the fact that mybloglog tracks clicks inlcuding clicks on adsense may get you banned..

As of 5 minutes ago I’ve removed MyBlogLog from my own personal blog. My Adsense account is too valuable to risk, and I’m outraged that MyBlogLog was stealing this data from my site.

more info here

The bottom line is that MyBlogLog is tracking AdSense and YPN clicks too. (Update: They do show you ads clicks in MBL Pro. Not having Pro does NOT stop the tracking from loading.) Who else gets this data?

The Web is going to look a lot different very soon!!!!

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

google have just update the tos …

You must not match other ads to the google styled ads… Wooo This is going to change everything.. No blending if you have any ads on your site basically.. All the ypn publishers that rotate with adsense MUST change the look of ypn or the adsense ads..

What the point ??????

Good write up over at jensense!!

However, this also affects ad units that mimic AdSense, yet are not contextual based, something that was always well within the AdSense terms and policies before now. So if you are selling text ads or running affiliate links in ad units that mimic AdSense, you will be in violation of the terms.

Compliance manager for YPN

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Over at ypn the guys at yahoo have added a new feature called the compliance manager..

This feature helps you pinpoint problems with the implementation of your Yahoo! ads, or problems with content on the same page as your Yahoo! ads, so that you can correct them—and keep the ads flowing.

This is big news and i’ve held off posting due to my “I don’t care about YPN until I can use it in the UK”

Hopefully google will take this on board and maybe just maybe we will see far less of the “i’ve been banned” posts..When people / webmaster have no idea why..

YPN update..

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Well dosen’t effect me :(

 uk ypn come on!!!!

We are not all spammers in the uk..

Anyway ypn says :

We’ve been doing some tinkering under the bonnet recently, so some of you may notice a few changes in your ads. The changes you’re likely to see include the removal of ellipses (…) and truncated words, the inclusion of 40-character titles on certain ad units, and a change in the number of ads displayed on certain ad layouts.
