Yuri Gagarin 50th Anniversary of the First Human Spaceflight

google celebrates “Yuri Gagarin” ..

Yuri Gagarin was the First manned spaceflight amazingly some 50th years ago..

Yuri won one of the biggest races between the USA and the former USSR. The Soviet was a hero. This Spaceflight was the one and only flight Yuri Gagarin ever made.

Sadly Gagarin died in 1968 when a Mig 15 training jet he was piloting crashed.

    To celebrate Gagarin’s achievement and his visit to the UK, a statue of Gagarin was unveiled on The Mall, outside the British Council’s offices (opposite the statue of Cook) by Gagarin’s eldest daughter, Elena Gagarina and Prince Michael of Kent.
