OKy..

I run a few web directories.. All niche..

I actual love looking at almost all the submissions.. Its a great way to see what spammers and blackhatters are doing.. Along with what keywords people are after..

Its always interesting adding a “keyword” field to the submit form as it tells you the what the seo/webmaster is targetting…

Anyway each time I come accross a site the is of seo interest or just simply funny/odd i’ll post in this section….

First site..

I just can’t believe this site.. the subject matter. lol..

Some great FAQ at the bottom like “Do I need special equipment?”

And “This course may be withdrawn from the market because we get pressure from the “adult” industry so Don’t wait any longer! ”

Sacked.. ?

As many of you out in seo land know that aol released some 20million search records with so much information about its users…

I’ve been playing with this data for about a week now and loving the information its outputting ;)

Anyway.. The news yesterday stated that the guy(s) responsible for this have now left the company..

“AOL’s chief technology officer left the company on Monday, two weeks after the division she ran made public the search records of 658,000 customers.”

So the yo yo came from New york to london back @ the end of June 2006..

The parcel from barry arivved the day of my flight to rome, so it came with us

And of course I took it to holland last w/e in which one of them got slightly broken…

(someone was almost crying (not me btw))

Sex.. Is everyone searching for it..

I can’t believe the amount of “sex” type keywords in this AOL data..

I know the business is big but omg not that big.. Why.. Well doing some research on my target markets i’d search the queries for the like of “men’s shoes”..
Then look into the users searches according to the ID from the above query search..

Wham bam.. Sex and body parts (including “hairy”) came up (please note the spelling of “came”)

Anyway back to the point..

So many “innocent” looking searchers are “Sex mad”..

ADDED: this post is now ranking for “wife hairy blog links” lol.. see if it get to number 1 lol wife hairy blog links

Washington post..

Great look into a big site selling links..

Now when link hunting you often come accross some massive site flogging links for silly money in my opinion..

Anyway.. Barry / rustybrick blogged up on SEW about one site that i’ve come accross many times before..

Why have I come accross this site.. Well simple .. Competitors had/have bought links on the blogroll…

A discusion then started with peoples opinion on if this would pass rank to help in serps … http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=13285

Anyway the link have whats called a onlclick event.. Which calls a function that redirects the user to the advertisers site.. However 2 google employees confirm this would not pass any value in ranking..

My thoughts before this article is that it would never pass link pop for the likes of google as it need to be clean imho..
