Online banking fraud ‘up 8,000%’

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Full report over @ beeb but is google msn etc.. Going to do anything about it ?

Most fraud is via phishing email so google/msn can’t do anything about that but serp warning and toolbar would be great :D

IE7 now has a phishing site alerts which is a step in the right direction..

This quote is one of the most BS

Rob Gruppetta, of the FSA’s financial crime team, said “phishing” was growing rapidly in the UK.

“We are very concerned about the rate of increase. It has gone up by 8,000% in the past two years.

“But in the grand scheme of total fraud it is still quite small.”

New Sitemaps Protocol May Hurt Your Listings in Yahoo! Tim Says no!

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Quite a few comments in forums regarding the drop in indexing/ranking when adding the site maps protocol.. This used to be a google sitemaps topic and now has moved to yahoo, however tim (assuming Tim Mayer) has commented on SERT the following

This is simply not true.

Last month Google, Microsoft & Yahoo! Back SiteMaps Protocol, so it makes sense to begin converting your sitemaps to one standardized file. One such webmaster did that, submitted the new file to Yahoo! and claimed that Yahoo!’s Site Explorer dropped half of his pages from the index.

Spam foot prints…

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

As is soon crimbo and the snow is going to cover the land last start a blog on “foot prints” in the snow..

So in regards to seo, rss, BH and alike what is a foot print.. Well its something left by and application.. The web application used for this blog is word press which has 100’s and foot prints identifying as wordpress.. Not just the link to wp at the bottom but meta info and just folder/code formation…

Any here is a example of one I’ve come across today..

This a script that produces so called “portals” .. I’ve seen the style (application) of these sites submitted to my directories 1,000’s of times..

So for this one you can use the following query..

The query is from the homepage of seo script.. Thus leaving a foot print in the snow…

Google and alike have some nifty tool from foot print tracking and its a subject I’m going to expand on in the future..

From a female in her teens in Tampa, United States

I got betrayed by my first love… why …

Odd stuff I tell you…

Maybe digging a hole in the ground might be better ?

Some great advice :

Posted by allison on Fri Nov 17 15:45:33 2006some times what you think is right may not be.

Posted by Jay, bangalore, India on Thu Nov 16 06:45:18 2006Its true… People dont give the real value for real love, but the person who is in real love will be in pain… its very easy to say the time will heal, but the wound will be there for ever in the entire life… i knew the pain…..

Compliance manager for YPN

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Over at ypn the guys at yahoo have added a new feature called the compliance manager..

This feature helps you pinpoint problems with the implementation of your Yahoo! ads, or problems with content on the same page as your Yahoo! ads, so that you can correct them—and keep the ads flowing.

This is big news and i’ve held off posting due to my “I don’t care about YPN until I can use it in the UK”

Hopefully google will take this on board and maybe just maybe we will see far less of the “i’ve been banned” posts..When people / webmaster have no idea why..

The best search engine vs the worst. Public opinions

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

A bit of fun here..

I just read a programers blog who’d search the “php sucks” etc.. and found how many results had related as a public opinion..

This is just for fun and course is mainly forums..

so here we go

google is the worst search engine returned 33

Yahoo is the worst search engine 4

msn is the worst search engine 4

ask is the worst search engine 7

So google is the worst lol.. .BTW i’m using google for these results as I feel google is the best imho

So who is the best then ??

Google is the best search engine 11,000

yahoo is the best search engine 6,390

msn is the best search engine 24

ask is the best search engine 0
